A LITTLE LEADERSHIP

A Potential Leadership during my childhood

Since childhood, I formed a special bond with my four male cousins, creating an inseparable “team” of five brothers. Though not the eldest, my leadership role was clear; the others affectionately called me "Brother Subin," a title that carried both camaraderie and responsibility.

Our affection remained unwavering despite occasional squabbles, each serving as a lesson in resolution and respect. Our shared experiences, studying, swimming, building with LEGO, gaming, dining out, and exploring, were more than activities; they were the foundation of our lifelong friendship. During outings, I often took the initiative to assign tasks, fostering organization and collaboration, skills that continue to serve me well.

Though I now study in the United States, we maintain our bond through regular online meetings, sharing dreams, supporting each other academically, and proving that distance cannot weaken our connection.

My leadership journey began in kindergarten at an international school in Singapore and continued through nine years at the Vietnam-Australia International School. As a class monitor, I developed teamwork and responsibility, further strengthened through team-building activities and presentations.

I also competed in international math contests like the World Scholars Cup, winning two championships, a gold medal individually, and two silver medals in team events, sharpening my analytical and collaboration skills.

At The Village School and the University of Michigan, I founded and led multiple student associations, organized community events, and now serve as secretary of the American Society of Engineers. Leading volunteer organizations, I’m passionate about driving social change through technical workshops and charity initiatives.

Reflecting on my journey, from the playful days with my cousins to the leadership roles I've embraced, I feel a profound sense of pride in what I have accomplished. The experiences I've gained have not only shaped me into a capable leader but have also reinforced my commitment to making a difference in the world around me. As I look toward the future, I am eager to continue pursuing my passions and contribute to a brighter tomorrow.”
