BUILDING LEGO DREAMS
A Lego Story of Passion and Perseverance
When my mother attended a bustling seafood fair in Belgium for the first time, I was still an infant. While there, she visited a nearby Lego store, purchasing a gift for my cousin along with additional sets designed for toddlers, anticipating the day I could enjoy them too. Little did she know that by the time I was not yet two, I would develop an unexpected passion for Lego.
To encourage good behavior, my mother used Lego as a reward, gifting me pieces whenever I behaved well, took my medicine, or achieved something notable. This not only reinforced positive habits but also fueled my creativity. As my enthusiasm grew, I eagerly searched online for new sets, often asking my mother to buy them for me.

Lego stores in Ho Chi Minh City soon became familiar destinations for us. Our frequent visits made us well-known among the staff, who went out of their way to track down rare sets for me. If a set wasn’t available locally, they would check inventory in other cities, such as Da Nang, and my mother would arrange for its delivery. No matter where she traveled for business, I would ask her to visit Lego stores, take photos, and let me choose what I wanted, though larger, pricier sets often came with the condition that I excel academically.

In 2013, my mother built a spacious home, including a dedicated room to display my growing Lego collection. I often spent hours assembling intricate sets, so engrossed that I would even forget to eat. My dedication impressed my relatives, who marveled at my patience and perseverance.
Beyond childhood play, my love for Lego instilled discipline, problem-solving skills, and a passion for creation, qualities that now fuel my ambition to study engineering. My journey with Lego is proof that a simple toy can inspire lifelong curiosity and shape future aspirations.
